27. Widmanstätten Pattern
There is a complex palimpsest of lines within meteorites known as the Widmanstätten Pattern. A grid-like structure interlacing, intersecting across, down and through – created over billions of years. Closer inspection reveals a depth and an architecture – like cages stacked or a skeletal structure of some unfathomable collection of towers; a kind of futuristic, almost digital construction. This combination and interaction of nickel and iron; chaotic yet strangely harmonious lines etched, layered and formed over unimaginable time. The paths of souls, lives and memories stacked.
