The end of the world, or a new beginning?
Hello people. A couple of months back I took a trip to the bus museum in Long Hanborough (Near Witney) – ‘You certainly live an exciting life Mr. Black!’ I can hear you say – and yes, sometimes I do…But while the rest of the visitors were absorbed in the history of transport, the beauty of the bus, I was beheld by another, quite sad beauty: The neglected plastic actors. Although I admit a hint of nostalgia as I made my way through the ages – flash-backs of journeys into town, that smell of stale cigarettes and travel sickness- I soon became aware of the extent of neglect that these post-apocalyptic figures had succumbed to. Many of them had twisted or mutilated limbs and it was both funny and disturbing. The other thing that fascinated me was how nobody else seemed to notice these characters looking through painted eyes from another time desperate for an explanation. Perhaps I’m just not that bothered about buses… I took many photos and have included a few here. They are in desperate need of some narrative, yet to be decided… Oh, by the way: I believe that it is time for a new beginning. I guess though that if the world were to end it would most certainly be a new beginning. Merry Christmas! Matt x
